How to Find and Plant Goji Berry Seeds
Goji berries have created a stir in the international market, particularly among those who are into health and supplements. The goji berry plant is known to grow and thrive in various climate conditions. It is no wonder then that many are interested to grow the goji berry plant right in their own gardens and even in pots. In order to produce good goji berry plants, good goji berry seeds are needed. Goji berry seeds are not hard to find. However, the issue is finding quality goji berry seeds. Goji berry seeds can be ordered online or from those who already have a goji berry plant garden at home. Once you have the goji berry seeds, the first thing you need to do is prepare the soil. It is true that goji berry seeds can germinate in any soil type. However, if you want better results, prepare the soil with organic fertilizer, preferably made from duck manure, cow manure or seaweed. Avoid adding any chemicals in the soil so that the goji berry plants will be healthy. Soak the goji berry seeds in water for two to three hours, which is enough time to get the seedpod out. After soaking, scrape off the seedpods onto a paper towel and place them on a flat surface. When planting the seeds in germination pots, exercise extreme care. Make sure that each pod has its own cup. Place the goji berry seed half an inch deep and cover with soil. Sprinkle the seeds with a little water after planting. Place the pots in a dark area. The temperature needs to be around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. In four to six weeks, the goji berry seeds will germinate. When you see two leaves on a seedling, transplant it to a pot that has a capacity of at least one gallon. Fill this pot with organic soil that is well drained. Keep in mind that goji berry plants do not like wet, soggy soil.
